ACTION PRINT: Creative Services Specialist

Fresh out of college and immediately after completing a design internship, I was psyched to be the top pick for a newly created position at Action Print. My first “real” design position! As an added service to Action Print’s arsenal of amenities, the Creative Services Specialist allowed them to be more than just the final step in the production process. They wanted to be an integral asset from concept to the hand-held, final piece! As Creative Services Specialist, my main responsibility was to be a resource for Action Print’s customers by fulfilling their graphic needs. From idea generation that supported brand goals to the creation of instructional manuals, advertising materials, large signage and identity design. Every business had different needs with unique problems to solve and I often worked directly with the customer to get them where they wanted to be visually.

In addition to the above responsibilities, I worked with the Sales Team to produce materials they could pass along defining and demonstrating Action Print’s capabilities. This included a monthly newsletter, postcards, yearly calendars and planners, as well as brochures and flyers describing every service provided.

In a nutshell, Action Print provided me with invaluable knowledge about the entire print production process. I am a better designer for learning the ins and outs of life in a print shop - the basic fundamentals of design and it’s relationship to production.
